What is your take on Jesus? It was a typical day around the Stanley’s when I noticed that Lincoln and Harrison had reached into the closest and pulled out some toys. On this particular day the toy or might I say, “toys” of choice, was a rendition of Noah and the ark with all the animals to boot. Harrison the youngest of the two made an observation, he grasp the little character, who I assume was suppose to be Noah in the original design and said, “This is Jesus!” I’m not sure if this was a pretend like Jesus or if he really felt that it was Jesus, whatever the case was Lincoln the elder brother quickly made the correction when he said, “No, Jesus has a brown beard.”
How does he know this? Where did he even learn this? I don’t guess in all my Sunday School years I’ve ever met the teacher who actually told me that Jesus had a brown beard. This was his conclusion. Be it right or wrong Lincoln still felt that this was what Jesus looked like.
I’ve often wondered what He might look like? How tall was He? Did He have brown hair or black hair? What was His favorite past time? I’m not claiming to have the answers to these probing questions, but it would be cool if we could wrap our minds around some of these things. The truth is He probably looked much like the ones closest too you and I. Maybe a next door neighbor, employee, or your family. So the prayer today is that you and I would treat those individuals accordingly.
